My Favorite Instagram Accounts

Hello everyone and happy almost Friday!  I don't know why, but this week has been so crazy for me, I'm going to be so happy for a nice relaxing weekend for sure.  Also, I've been having this problem this week where I legitimately just never know what day it is.  Very concerning honestly...

Anyways, I thought today I would share with y'all my absolute favorite instagram accounts to follow, because I know I'm not the only one who loves finding people who are much cooler than me to follow on instagram, so here's some inspiration for all you instagram-obsessed out there!

@inslee // Inslee Farris has the most gorgeous fashion illustration account, plus she's hilarious, sooo double win!

@earthyandy // If you need some inspiration to eat at least a little healthy (aka eat one piece of broccoli a week...) then honestly, this is the best instagram out there!  Also, her family is gorgeous and they live in Hawaii, and did I mention they're just precious?

@amberfillerup // Ok, this is honestly just the most perfect instagram out there.  Like seriously, there are no words, y'all just gotta go follow ASAP!

@marykaterob // Even if you're not a fan of Duck Dynasty, MaryKate's instagram is just so cute, and she posts the most amazing inspiring messages that just brighten my day!

@zoella // Y'all already know how much I love Zoella, but her instagram is honestly one of the best!  It's so cheerful and colorful, plus around fall/Christmas she has the most festive posts, and I already can't wait for September for her to start getting festive again!

What I'm Reading | July 2016

Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend and are enjoying the end of this July Monday! Today I thought I would do something a little different, but as I've been reading a lot of good books this month I thought I would do a little monthly roundup of what I've been reading!

Something Blue // Emily Giffin This book was basically a rom-com in book form, but it wasn't too bad if you're looking for an easy, thoughtless beach read.  I had sort of a hard time getting into it because in the first section the main character, Darcy, is super unlikable, but she get's better and so does the story, so all in all it was a fun one!

Emma // Alexander McCall Smith I honestly love the premise of updating an old book and making it applicable to present-day, and I just found the writing so breezy and fun to read.  I also love the characters, they're all accurate to the original book, but also have funny little updates to make them modern.  If you're looking for another quick summer book, definitely look into this one!

Funny Girl // Nick Hornby I haven't honestly finished this one yet, but I'm about halfway through and let me just say I'm in love with this book.  It's basically about the starlet of a 1960s sitcom, and everything about is so great.  It's funny, but not entirely a mindless read.  Would absolutely recommend this book!

The Girl on the Train // Paula Hawkins I had heard a lot about this book, so I thought I would see if I liked it.  I was a little nervous because I heard that this was just insanely creepy and twisted, but I literally could not put it down y'all!  I finished it in under 24 hours I'm pretty sure... Fair warning, it is super super creepy in the end, but honestly I couldn't love this book more.  If you're into thrillers, this honestly is one of the best ones I've read!

I have actually been doing a lot of reading this month, as I've had a lot more free time.  I still have another month of off school, so hopefully I'll get a lot more reading done in August!

Beach Day Essentials

Hello everyone and a very happy Monday to you guys!  As it is the middle of summer, I figured it's prime time to do a little round up of stuff I have to take with me for a day at the beach, or more often in my case, the pool!  Honestly, not having the proper supplies can be catastrophic to your beach day, and I find that these things + snacks ensure that you'll have a perfect day of beaching!

Books / Magazines - This is a given, I'm one of those people who can only sit there and listen to music for so long, so I have to bring something to read/look at as well!  Here I have an Instyle, which is by far my favorite magazine, and Mindy Kaling's amazing book "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?" which is the perfect beach read!

Lip Balm - Because, I don't know about y'all, but salt water + wind makes my lips nightmarish, so I find bringing a long a little bit of lip balm, like this by Smith's, is an absolute must.

BB Cream with SPF - I am honestly so bad with sunscreen, but I find my saving grace is wearing some sort of base makeup that has SPF.  I chose this BB cream by Maybelline because it's super light coverage and easy to apply, so it's perfect to bring in your beach bag in case you need to reapply some midway through the day!

Headphones - Sometimes the mood just hits me to just lay out and listen to some music, so that makes headphones an obvious necessity for a beach day.  These are just the Apple ones, because I've never really strayed from these, although there probably are some better ones out there, I'm just too lazy to look (lol)!

I hope y'all enjoyed this post, and I hope you all have tons of exciting beach days planned before we all have to go back to reality in the fall!

Current Stationary Obsessions

Hello everybody, I hope you're all having an amazing Sunday so far!  I just thought I would do a quick little blurb about a few of the stationary bits that I have been loving lately.  You all already know about my ban.do planner, but while I was in Charleston, my mom very kindly picked up the big to do list, the small pink to do list, and the small "killin it" pad (obsessed!), and they have all been brightening my life recently, and also I can't wait to bring them to college with me in the fall!  Also, I think I've already mentioned this pink legal pad, and I've probably already said how it makes me feel like Elle Woods, but I mean seriously it's one of my favorite things ever ever ever.

Also y'all, totally unrelated, but I went to Barnes and Noble and picked up "Funny Girl" by Nick Hornby and "The Girl on the Train" by Paula Hawkins, so I was thinking maybe after I finished them I may do a review of them here, and maybe start doing some more book posts, as I've been really back into reading a lot lately!

Anyways, I hope y'all enjoyed this post and I will talk to y'all very soon!

Product Review | Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette

Hey y'all!  Today I have a very exciting post on a very exciting product and I'm just very very excited!  I mentioned the Becca x Jaclyn Hill face palette in my midsummer favorites post, but I wanted to do a more in depth review of each shade for y'all, since it is such a hyped up product right now and I figured a lot of y'all would be curious about whether or not it is worth the splurge!

So, to start this palette comes with two matte blushes (Amaretto, the more brown toned one, and Pamplemousse, the coral one), one luminous blush (Rosé Spritz, on the far left), as well as two highlighting shades (Champagne Pop, the slightly pinky one, and Prosecco Pop, the more golden toned one).  Honestly, every single shade is absolutely stunning, although I will say I've had to play around with them to figure out how much product to put on the brush, as they are all super highly pigmented, and the first few times I used it I was really looking like a clown with scary amounts of blush on.

I would say just tap your brush into the shades, and you will be more than good to go.  Every single shade is stunning and I have been using it every single day since I bought it, no joke!  I would say this is 100% worth the splurge, especially if you, like me, had never tried any Becca products and you wanted a good introduction to the brand!

So overall, I highly rate this palette, plus it gets extra points for the brilliant packaging.  I mean, have you ever seen anything so gorgeous?  I hope you all enjoyed this post and I will talk to y'all very soon!

Perfect Summer Movies

Hello everybody! I hope y'all are having a fantastic Friday morning! I honestly ate so much watermelon this morning, so I know I'm having a stellar day so far (lol).  Today I thought I'd share with y'all my all time favorite summertime movies.  Maybe it's just me, but there are certain movies that just get me into the perfect summer mood and that I have to watch every year when June rolls around.

1 // Summer Magic // Honestly, the name is pretty self-explanatory for this one, but I do love this movie so much.  I used to watch it all the time with my siblings when I was little, so to me it's the perfect nostalgic, cozy summer movie.

2 // The Parent Trap // Ugh, this is 100% my favorite movie ever ever.  I watch it all the time with my best friend, and we can pretty much quote the whole thing.  Honestly, every single scene of this movie is just another gem, basically this is the most perfect movie ever for summer with the summer camp scenes and the cool London house and the amazing Napa vineyard, I'll stop obsessing over this movie now, I feel like y'all get the gist (fyi I'm listening to the soundtrack of this movie as I write this, I'm actually obsessed).

3 // Pride & Prejudice // This movie is SO stunning and just amazing, and basically I watch at least once every two weeks, but I love it in the summer because all of the beautiful English countryside makes me want to actually go outside and enjoy nature (aside from going out to catch pokémon...).

4 // Dirty Dancing //  I feel like this may be the most perfect summer film... ever?  I know that's a bold statement, but I mean, I feel like it's the truth here.  Honestly this is such a classic, also sometimes I laugh at the blatant 80's-ness of it, but that's just part of what makes it so so good.  Also, it's on Netflix so go watch quick (just stick to your own account kids!).

I hope this gave you some summer movie inspiration for this lovely Friday!  Now that I've written this, I'm tempted to go have a movie marathon... hmmm, will keep y'all posted on any developments on that plan!

Flawless Skin Essentials

Hello everyone and happy Thursday!  I always love Thursdays because at the end of the long day it's just exciting to know that tomorrow is Friday.  Although, to be fair, as I'm on summer vacation right now everyday feels a bit like Friday!  Anyways, back to the actual point of this post, I wanted to show y'all the four products that I use day in and day out for healthy, glowing skin!

Yes to Grapefruit Pore Minimizing Toning Mist // Confession, I may have purchased this because I loved the packaging, but in all honesty the product itself turned out to be just as amazing!  I spray this on my face after I get out of the shower in the morning and let it sink in for about five minutes before I put on my makeup, and I find it just gives the perfect bit of moisture to my face and actually gives it the most amazing glow.

Obagi C Rx System C-Cleansing Gel // I know I've already talked about this product on here millions of times, but it just really is the nicest face wash.  I do have pretty sensitive skin, and I love how it's not drying or rough on my skin, but really cleans it so well and leaves my skin radiant and happy!

Trader Joe's Vitamin E Oil // If you live near a Trader Joe's, honestly please go buy this it's the best thing EVER.  It's only like six dollars in the stores I think, and it works absolute wonders for my skin. I put it on every night after washing my face, and it leaves my skin absolutely glowing in the morning.  It's not heavy or greasy at all, and for the price it's just perfection!

Savannah Bee Company Lip Balm in Peach // I can't go more than a day without lip balm, and I've really been loving this one lately.  It's got amazing ingredients in it, and it really does do a good job of keeping my lips moisturized.  It's also exfoliating, so it's perfect if my lips do get super chapped as a emergency fix!

Those are my current skincare staples, I hope y'all enjoyed this post!  Here's to it almost being Friday, yayyy!

Midsummer Favorites!

Hellooo everyone!  I know it's been a whole long while since I've been on here, but I've been a counselor at a summer camp, and then I went to Charleston for a week (rough life, I know), so I've had a bit of an excuse, but I've missed writing on here!  Since it has been so long, I thought I'd do a little roundup of products I've really been loving over my break from writing, and as it's not really a specific month's favorites, I thought I'd just do a midsummer roundup!

1 // This agenda has been an absolute favorite of mine!  Even though technically it doesn't start till August, I've loved writing dates and birthdays in it, and looking through all of the cute designs and stickers it comes with.  Also, if you're on the hunt for a good, affordable agenda, I definitely recommend ban.do, they never dissapoint!

2 // OMG y'all... I can't even handle the Becca x Jacyln Hill Champagne Pop face palette.  I had a bit of a splurge whilst I was in the Sephora in Charleston, and I just had to buy this lil gem.  Honestly, the packaging alone could have sold me because it is SO gorgeous, not to mention the beautiful shades inside.  It's got two matte blushes, one luminous blush, and two highlighters, and honestly I've used it every single day since I've gotten it, no joke!

3 // I have also been loving this Nyx soft matte lip cream in Stockholm, it's just a really pretty rosy nude that I find so easy to wear and natural looking.  Also, I've been obsessed with these soft matte lip creams, the formula is just so so nice and I wear them basically everyday.

4 // This eyebrow pencil from Maybelline has also been a favorite of mine this summer, as I find it just makes doing my eyebrows super quick and easy.  I feel sure I've mentioned this one before, but I've been using it so much that I just had to add it in!

5 //  This BH cosmetics brush (number 129) has been my absolute go to for blending eye shadows out in the crease.  It's super nice a soft, and I just find it does a really nice job of getting things nice and totally blended out.

6 // I feel sure I've mentioned this Maybelline BB cream, but I have been using this a whole ton this summer.  It's super light and easy on the skin, yet it really gives the loveliest dewy finish, which I just find so perfect for the summer when you don't want anything too heavy on but you still want a little flawless on your face!

7 // The Soap & Glory Rich & Foamous body wash has been such a dream to use.  It's got the most amazing scent of almonds and honey, which I find so comforting and luxurious at the same time.  The actual consistency of the body wash is nice too, as it gets nice and foamy (as the name suggests!).

8 // I'm about a third of a way through this book, which is "Emma: A Modern Retelling," and let me tell y'all, I love it.  I'm already a huge fan of Jane Austen (who isn't?), but I've just been loving the way that McCall Smith weaves the classic characters from Emma into a modern setting, he makes it so believable and I feel like I'm reading Emma for the first time again!

9 // And the last thing I've been favoriting this summer is just a good old pair of gold hoop earrings.  I have two of my favorite ones pictured here, but honestly you can get some just about anywhere.  I've been loving the look of them lately, and I find them so easy to just throw on with anything!

And that's my midsummer favorites roundup for y'all!  I am so excited to be back to doing this, and I can't wait for more exciting posts and projects!  Anyway, there's the most lovely thunder storm brewing outside, so I'm going to go cozy up and enjoy a nice summer afternoon!  Hope you all have a great day, and I will talk to y'all soon!
