I Bought SO Many Things...

Soo... I went to Charleston this week and I went to Target and for some reason I just got a bit crazy in the makeup section.  You know when you're in Target and it feels like a normal day, then all of the sudden you realize you need to buy everything?  I hope I'm not the only one who does this... but regardless of my insanity, here is all of the stuff I bought/my rambling opinions on all of them!

Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream: Slight disclaimer - this is a sample size, so I think the packaging is a bit different than the normal size!  But y'all... Y'ALL this stuff is so nice, like I put it on my face and automatically was like ummmm this is all I need for my face for the rest of my life.  It's really moisturizing but also isn't thick or oily at all, and the way it melts into your face is just magic, it's just magic I tell you!!

Revlon ColorStay Foundation (Normal/Dry):  I bought this lil thing for two reasons - 1) because everyone loves this and talks about it all the time, and 2) because it has a flipping pump!!  If you are also obsessed with all things makeup like me, you'll automatically understand the struggle of pump-less foundation.  Like why is it even a thing?  Why?  Honestly it's almost worse than the invention of standardized testing, so you know it's bad! Anyways, my thoughts on the actual foundation, I actually think I really like it!  It's sort of drying on my skin for whatever reason, but I like the finish it gives, and I got complemented on my skin soo if that doesn't speak to you I don't know what will!

Maybelline Define-A-Brow:  I actually used to own this in middle school, but I bought the color that was like five shades too light for me, so I got scared and didn't do my brows for like three years.  Anyways, Estée Lalonde mentioned this in one of her videos and compared it to the Anastasia Brow Whiz, so I thought I would buy it again and give it a tentative try.  Blessing of all blessings, I got the right shade this time and actually really like this!  It's super fast, which I like because if I spend too long trying to fix my eyebrows my quality of life really plummets.

Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray:  I love this SO so so much oh my gosh.  I had always viewed the perfect beachy hair as something unattainable for me in my life, as every time I go to the beach my hair rebels against me in a not very pretty way.  But this stuff is making all of my dreams come true, no joke!!  It gives hair really nice hold, and I could do so many more braids and stuff with this, plus it gives the most amazing texture!

Nyc Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm and Milan:  This stuff is honestly just so great, it's matte without really being too dry on the lips.  I don't know how to explain it, but you put it on and once it dries, it almost feels like there's nothing at all on your lips, which is so crazy.  I love these two colors, Stockholm is a really nice pinky nude, and Milan is a pretty sort of muted pink!

L'Oréal Infallible Pro Contour Palette:  Ugh... I was probably most excited to try this, but honestly it just was very disappointing in the end.  It's not pigmented at all, like when I tried to swatch it with my finger, all that came off was glitter and the faintest bit of pigment, which is not ideal for a contour product.  I feel like for twelve dollars even, this is not worth your money.  Sorry to be a debby downer, but I mean... I can't contour like Kim if my contour palette isn't delivering you know?

Elf Mineral Infused Face Primer:  I was a little bit worried about this to be honest, mostly because I had tried the Elf mineral infused primer, but the radiant glow version, and I straight up hated it.  It left glitter embedded all over my face, which is just not my jam whatsoever, so I was worried that this one would be similarly disastrous.  Good news though, this lil dude is actually so good!  It really makes makeup go on so lovely and smooth, and I mean, for six dollars, seriously can it get better than that?

Soo that's my slightly overboard Target haul, I was actually so happy with the majority of the stuff I got, so I would call my shopping trip a grand success!  Should probably stop shopping now though... never mind lol never gonna stop shopping.

Summer Beauty Essentials!

Hello everyone!  So, as it's the middle of the May, which still mystifies me as I'm pretty sure it was Christmas yesterday, I thought I would share with y'all a few bits and pieces that I love for the summer.  In summer, I usually have a makeup shift, where I go from doing a lot of full on makeup in the winter to doing lighter and lighter makeup looks as summer comes around, so these are the products I usually rely on to get a natural, glowy look.

I've written before about this product, but I really do like the finish that this product gives, I find that it's glowy and really fresh (as the name suggests haha) and I love how easy it is just to throw on really quickly and easily.

This is so nice for a really simple makeup look, as it gives the most gorgeous rose tint that is just a barely there look, but for some reason I feel like it brightens up my whole face in the most beautiful way.

Sometimes for a more natural look, I find I want less of a full blown highlighter, so this one is a nice happy medium, as it gives a glow, but it's not really an in your face highlight, although I do love some  major highlight!

This is just the best set for a quick and easy bronzey, summery, all around gorgeous look.  As someone who is naturally really pale, and ends up burning rather than tanning, I love turning to products like this to make it appear that I'm some sort of breezy Californian who was born with a gorgeous tan and a natural glow, soo that's my mentality with this one.

I've had this for a really long time, but I always forget about it for some reason, however lately I've been using more, mainly on my lips.  I find it gives the most beautiful natural stain to the lips, it's so fuss free which I love, so I definitely will be using this more and more throughout the summer.

I've just realized that this was in my autumn beauty essentials as well... but I mean, this set is one of my all time favorites, so that just shows how much I love it right?  Seriously, these are the most gorgeous eye shadow shades, and I feel like for summer they're especially beautiful because they're all so beautiful and goldeny/shimmery.

So those are my favorite bits for summer, as far as beauty goes.  I might do another summer essentials post, maybe something clothes wise, although my style is a bit lacking right now, so maybe some random summer essentials instead.  We shall see about that, but I will talk to you all very soon!

Top Five Summer Nail Polishes

Soo... I know there are only four nail polishes pictured here, but that's because I totally forgot to pull the fifth one for the photo, so I'm SO sorry about that!  But my counting problems aside, I thought I'd share with y'all my favorite summery nail polishes, as I did this in the fall and I really enjoyed writing about it then, so I thought I'd just do it again!

I'll go right to left, just FYI...

This color may be my favorite nail polish EVER.  I'm obsessed with slightly out-there nail polish colors, I'll almost always go for a blue or a purple over a standard red, so this color is my ideal choice.  It's a gorgeous really light periwinkle blue, and I find it just looks so pretty and feminine, while still being a little bit different from your standard manicure color.

This is a more classic shade for me, but I actually love it.  I usually find that these sort of really light pink shades are just too sheer for my preference, but I love how this one has actual color that sort of makes it pop.

This is the BEST pink y'all.  If you find yourself looking for just a standard, perfect pink shade, I would definitely give this one a try.  I love how punchy and bright it is, and obviously it's Essie, which if you can tell from this post, is my favorite brand just because the quality is SO good.

I love this shade for a nice chill nude manicure, it's a nice creamy nude that stands out on your nails without being too peachy of a nude, which always bugs me for whatever reason.

So this is the one that isn't pictured, but it is a really beautiful hot pink shade that is so gorgeous and vibrant.  I don't really know why, but I really feel like this is gorgeous in July, when you probably have a bit more of a tan and are a bit more into the heart of summer.

So those are my faves as far as summery nail polishes go, I realize now that they're all Essie... I may have a slight obsession, it's normal.  Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this, and I will talk to you all very soon!

1 Swimsuit, 2 Ways

Swimsuit: H&M //

Look 1: Kimono // Shoes // Sunglasses //  Bag //

Look 2: Shorts // Shoes //  Necklace //  Bag //

Good morning (afternoon?) everyone! I hope you're all having an amazing Friday wherever you are! As it's the start of summer for me, and probably a few of you guys, I thought I would give y'all a little pool/beach day inspiration to get us all in the summer mood!  I feel like these are the two sides of my style, one is classy and refined, and the other is wacky and hippy... probably due to the fact that I was raised in Asheville (lol)!  Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this little burst of inspiration, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

5 Ways to De-Stress During Exam Week

Hey everyone, and Tuesday!  I don't know about y'all, but I'm almost out of school and I've actually just finished my last exam today (last highschool exam ever y'all!!).  I mean, it's no secret that exams are a super stressful time for any student, but I know that a lot of people get a lot of test anxiety, or can just get burned out during exam week, so I wanted to do a little post about how I deal with the stress/how I survive without going grey at 17...

1 // Exercise

This is so so helpful when your brain needs an all out break from studying, I find that when I get a little bit of exercise in, I automatically feel so much less stressed and just calmer overall.  Honestly my favorite thing to do is just plain old walking, I usually will walk about four miles on the treadmill or outside, I just find it's so relaxing and it doesn't stress me out like running tends to for whatever reason!

2 // Chocolate

I don't know, but I feel like chocolate is just a natural stress reliever?  Am I right?  I mean the only science I have backing this is personal research (i.e. seeing how much chocolate I can eat in one day), but the results have been promising so far soo... I would recommend dark chocolate, especially this kind!

3 // Baths

I'm kind of a grandma honestly, I love hot baths, I love Agatha Christie, and I have said multiple times before that my ideal age is 77.  I kid you not, this is the age I would be if I could be any age forever, because I mean, you can wear tracksuits and everyone will still think you're the cutest thing. Anyways, hot baths work absolute wonders for stress and it's such a nice way to completely unplug from studying.

4 // Laugh

Laughing.  Is.  So.  Important.  I seriously can't tell you how many times I have been at the end of my rope, just completely stressed to the point of tears, when I had a conversation with a friend or a family member, or watched my favorite youtuber/TV show, and the laughter that came from those things just completely lifted a load off of my shoulders.  I feel like sometimes when you're studying you can get so bogged down in all of the pressure of school, and sometimes just a good laugh can remind you that it really is all gonna work out fine in the end.  Just in case you're wondering, I suggest Friends or the Office for the best laughs.

5 // Get Outside

I'm the worst for this, but sometimes I find when I'm studying I forget that I've been inside for like a million hours, and I forget that there is an actual planet outside my door.  Sometimes just the simple walk out to get the paper is such a nice little reset and breath of actual fresh air.  I find the best thing is sitting in the sun for a little bit (wear your SPF ok I'm sorry I had a mom moment ok) and just taking a mental break for at least ten minutes.

So, I didn't include naps on this list because, truth be told, I never wake up from naps feeling good.  I legit always feel like I've time traveled to 2030 and my brain has died when I wake up from a nap. Am I the only one in this position?  I mean if naps work for you as a de-stresser for you, go for it but for me like the time travel thing is just not relaxing for some reason.

I hope y'all liked this post, and the best of luck to anyone currently in the middle of exam week or who is about to be in exam week, and if you're done with exams like me, congratulations you lil smarty!!  Happy Tuesday everyone, and I'll talk to y'all soon!!

April Faves | 2016

Happy Sunday everyone!! And happy May first!  Isn't May first just the best day?  It's just so springy you know?  I feel like I should take part in some springtime celebration, but Asheville doesn't really seem to have those so I'll have to settle with getting iced chai tea instead of hot as my spring celebration.  Anyways, as is my monthly tradition, I'm going to share with y'all a few things that I loved throughout April!

This is such a pretty watermelon pink shade, and plus it's super hydrating and glossy, which I love.  I have been wearing this most days, as it's a really easy shade to just throw on and not have to worry about any fussy application or anything like that!

I mentioned this in my post about school essentials, but I love this for everything besides school too. I don't know why, but for some reason I just got it into my head that I really wanted a pink legal pad, so I was obviously super excited when I found this in Target (where else?).  It's so cute and also I really like the mini size because I find I never have enough to fill a whole legal pad page most of the time, you know?

This blush is SO gorgeous, like so so pretty.  It has like flecks of gold in it, so it gives you a really pretty glow, and I find it just looks so natural on.  I also just feel fancy using Chanel... I mean it's the little things right?

I bought this a while ago, but I've just started using it a lot this month.  I've been sort of lazy with makeup this month, so for school I've been keeping it super simple, and I've really been liking this product for just giving me the slightest bit of coverage.  It makes my skin look really dewy and fresh, which helps when I look like a ghost in the mornings at school.

With summer coming up, I really wanted to go a little bit lighter with my hair, but I was too lazy to get a hair appointment, so I thought I'd give this a whirl.  Honestly, I'm really pleased with how well this worked!  It's really a nice, subtle change, but it does pull out the blonde in my hair in a really natural way.  So in the end, if you too are too lazy to schedule a hair appointment, hop on over to Target and try this out!

And those are my April favorites... I feel like that's how I end every favorites post... Not really sure how else to spice my endings up, but I hope y'all liked this post!  April absolutely flew by, I always feel like April is so long, but this year I literally don't know where it went.  Summer is almost here guys, now all that's left is to try and work on my tan so that I can wear a bathing suit without blending in to the sand!
