Product Review | Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

Hello everyone and happy Monday! Today was my first Monday back from spring break, which is a lil rough, but only five-ish weeks left till summer which is SO crazy! Anyways, I told y'all in my last product review of the Nars eyeshadow that I was trying out the Nars Sheer Glow foundation, so I thought I would tell y'all what I'm thinking about it!

So, consistency-wise this is on the thinner side, and it sort of reminded me a little bit of the L'Oreal True Match foundation as both are quite liquid-y.  I'm using the color Light2, Mont Blanc, which is a really good color match, and I think they have a really good range of colors which is amazing!

I really do like the finish this gives.  It's not got massive coverage, it gives a very sheer (duh) silky finish, but I think it layers really nicely and doesn't look too heavy on the skin.  The main thing I noticed was that this gives a very smooth, perfected look to the skin, and the overall effect is actually really nice and not cakey or anything at all.

So, all in all, I would totally recommend this foundation. I feel like there's a lot of hype about this and for all of that I don't know if I was that massively blown away, but honestly I haven't tried a ton of foundations, so I don't have a whole lot to compare this too! Would for sure recommend this foundation, and I do think it's for sure worth the price!

Have a wonderful rest of your day everyone, hope you've had an amazing Monday so far!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!  I hope that you all have a wonderful day that is spent with people you love and filled with joy! I just wanted to share a verse that has brought me a lot of joy with y'all, I hope it brings some of you encouragement or joy if you need it! It's just a wonderful reminder to me that my God is more than the sometimes overwhelming rules and rigidity of some churches, he is a living, breathing God who gave up his only son because he loves us so, so much.  And with that love, God fills our lives with so much joy and peace because we are his children who he cares for with a love so vast we cannot even fathom it.  What an amazing thing to celebrate today and everyday!!  Have a wonderful day y'all!

Product Review | Nars Duo Eyeshadow in "Isolde"

Hello everyone!!  I feel like I haven't posted anything in SO long, I've been on spring break all week and I was in Charleston visiting my sister!  It was such a fun trip, the weather was amazing and I feel like since my sister has moved to Charleston and I've started going more and more, I'm starting to get more familiar with the city which makes going so much more fun.  While I was in Charleston, I went to their brand new Sephora on King Street, and y'all it is amazing.  The only Sephora I've been in has been the one in Charlotte NC, because we don't have one in Asheville, and that one is so small and honestly not that pleasant, so my hopes weren't too high for the Charleston one but y'all it's so so nice and enormous!  I bought this eyeshadow and also the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, which I haven't tried yet but will post a review of once I give it a go!

On to the actual review, this eyeshadow is SO amazing.  I bought it because ZoĆ« Sugg of Zoella uses this a lot and said it's amazing for blue eyes, and as I have blue eyes I thought I would give it a whirl! I have never used any Nars eyeshadows so I didn't know what to expect from the quality, but I was so impressed.  They are super pigmented and they go on really smoothly, if that makes sense!  They are a bit more orange in tone than they look in the pan, but they look absolutely gorgeous and I thought they really do make my eyes pop.

This duo is $35, which is a little pricey but it's totally worth it to me, and if you are looking for a nice eyeshadow duo that's super high quality, I totally recommend this one!

Also, I've decided to focus more on building up my makeup collection with more high-end products, even if that means I only buy one product a month, but I just thought it would be more worth my money to invest in makeup that's high quality and will last me a long time!

Hope y'all have a wonderful Friday, and I hope you liked this post!

Holy Grail Drugstore Makeup | All Time Favorites

Hello everyone!!  I'm honestly so happy right now because of Daylight's Savings, aren't y'all? Despite the fact that I overslept a whole hour this morning, I'm still pumped about the extra hour of daylight in the evening!  Soo today I thought I'd write about my all time favorite drugstore products in each category... mostly because I've been watching a lot of youtube videos like this and I was feelin' inspired, so here goes!

Honestly I think Rimmel just does amazing foundations, basically you can't go wrong with any of theirs.  This one is my favorite though because it just gives the best finish and it smells really amazing, and it also just blends out so well!

I've talked about this like 20000 times but it's just my absolute favorite drugstore concealer ever.  I love love the little sponge thing, and the formula is super brightening.  Also, it's not very thick which I kind of like as it's never cake-y or anything.  The only thing I will say is that if your skin is a little bit dry, this probably isn't going to work as well because I noticed that it does cling a little bit to dry patches!

As you can see, I use this powder allll the time.  I feel like it's just a nice dependable powder, it never looks cake-y or dry, and I do find that it evens out my skin a little bit.  It's not incredibly long lasting, but overall it's a really nice powder for four dollars!

I chose this as my favorite blush from the drugstore mainly because I like the variety you get from the one palette and also because I find that every time I use it I'm always so impressed by it.  My favorite shade is the brightest pink in the lower-left corner, it gives the prettiest bright pink flush.  These are also super pigmented, which is amazing, but just keep in mind that you really only need the tiniest bit!

Honestly, I'm so pleased with this palette.  For six dollars you get a setting powder, a contour shade, a bronzer, and a highlighter.  I honestly haven't used the highlighter that much, so I don't really know if it's good or not, but I would for sure recommend the other three shades if you're looking for a budget contour kit that is still good quality!

Ok if you buy one item from Elf it should be this one, y'all like no joke this is an amazing palette, and it's only ten dollars!!  I love the all of the shades, and every single one is so so pigmented and buttery, it's honestly just so amazing.  I haven't tried out the other two shades that the palette comes in, but honestly this one is so amazing I don't think you can go wrong with it!

Soo everyone knows by now that Maybelline's Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadows are amazing, and they are, but I just wanted to give a shoutout to this shade.  It's in a different line of colors, I think it's just called the metal line or something, but this shade is honestly so pretty sometimes I just wear it on it's own and it's so pretty, like a lil bit of sunshine on my face!  Also someone wrote that you can wear this as like a cream highlighter, which intrigues me so I may try that and get back to y'all on that.

Picking one mascara was harder than I expected honestly, but this one has to win for me.  I think for the volume and length it gives you, it's just my favorite.  I also really like the brush, because more plastic wands can sometimes really hurt my eyes, so this one is a nice break from that!

And those are my favorite drugstore products ever ever!!  I tried to do something in each category but for some categories I felt like I didn't really have a true favorite that I really loved and I didn't want to just pick something for the sake of having it there so I just went with what I do love!!  Have a great day everyone!

Spring Series | Spring Workout Routine

Hello everyone!  Today I thought I'd share with y'all my spring workout routine!  Now, disclaimer, I'm obviously not some certified fitness instructor or anything like that at all, however I do workout out everyday so over time I've figured out what works for me and what doesn't, so hopefully this will be inspiring/helpful to someone out there!

Now that the temperature is rising (its 70 degrees today y'all!!) I can finally get off the treadmill I've been confined to since October and go outside to run, so because of that my whole workout routine gets changed a little bit, so I thought I would share it with y'all!  I usually do my workout in two sections, one for cardio, and one for strengthening:

1 So, the first thing I'll do when I workout is go for a run.  I'm not particularly good at running, but since I've been doing it more, I've come to actually enjoy it instead of wanting to cry each time I put my running shoes on.  Usually I'll do anywhere between three and five miles of running, nothing too fast, just to get a little cardio (and sunshine) in for the day.  Also, running just makes me feel so so good, there's honestly no exercise that compares as far as boosting my mood!

2 Now for the second stage of my workout, this is the kind that is most subject to change, and I sort of just do whatever my mood calls for.  This is where I work on strength, so I'll do legs, abs, etc here. Lately I've been doing twenty-five of whatever exercise comes into my head for each area.  So, for legs I'll do twenty-five squats, squat pulses, sumo squats, sumo squat pulses, bridge lifts, and so on until I've done about fifteen minutes of legs.  Then I'll do the same for abs and arms, until I've done about forty-five minutes of strengthening!

And that's it!  It's nothing revolutionary, I'd say it's a pretty standard workout all in all, but honestly it makes me feel so good, and the twenty-five thing I've been doing has actually been leaving me so sore, so I mean that's a good sign!  I hope you all enjoyed this little post, and have enjoyed my Spring Series!  I'm gonna go enjoy that sunshine some more, have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!

Spring Series | Review of Drugstore Haul!

Hello everyone and happy Monday!  It's so pretty out my heart is melting (just like the snow lol).  So I did my drugstore makeup review on Friday I think, and since then I've had a chance to try out all of the products, so I thought I'd do a little review because I always feel a little let down after a makeup haul because I want to know if the products are actually good, you know?  Am I the only one?  Well hopefully I'm not, because here are my reviews on each of the products!

I've never tried out a concealer with a brush instead of a standard little wand, but I kind of liked it!  It took me a second to figure out how to actually deal with the little paint brush situation, but I mean, I feel good about it now.  As for the actual concealer, I really really liked it!  It's pretty heavy, so just be warned that it is for sure full coverage, but it does give a really flawless look to the face and a nice highlight-y effect which I love.

Love this y'all.  Absolutely obsessed with this shade, this formula, everything about it!  It's a really super gorgeous pink-y nude, and I'm so happy with it!  Although, I feel like it's not the most moisturizing lipstick, so just make sure you moisturize your lips before applying it, and you'll be perfecto!

So, if y'all read my last post you would know that this is my first lip pencil, so granted I don't have a lot of basis for this review!  That being said, this was a little tricky to apply mostly because it was just so dry.  Like, not velvety at all, so it really didn't glide well over the lips at all.  However, I mean I really love the shade, and the combo of this and the 017 lipstick, it was just a little hard to put on, which could be standard to lip pencils, but I'm not too sure!

I've already talked about how good this stuff is, so there's not too much point in going into it again, if you wanna read more about it, I wrote all about it in this post!

I liked this powder a lot, when I put it on to set my concealer I did feel like it gave a nice matte and smoothed over look.  In all honesty though, it didn't stand out to me as an OMG life changing powder, you know?  Like for the four dollars I paid for it, it's for sure a quality item, but it's not anything particularly life changing!

So, yes I have tried this before and yes I have loved it, however this was my first time using the brightening shade, which as far as I know is a new thing, but don't hold me to that!  Let me just say, I love this shade so much.  Like so so so so so much.  I mean it really does brighten, and the concealer's formula is so good y'all, like I felt like I was putting a very high budget concealer on my face.  Seriously if you want a brightening concealer for your under eye area, try this one, I pinky promise you will be seriously wowed y'all!!

Well I hope this helps some of you out there on your next trip to the drugstore to try out some new makeup!  All in all, I'm very happy with everything I got, especially the Maybelline concealer wowowow.  Y'all my parting word to you today is to go try that stuff.  Seriously, do it.  OK, those were my parting words, sooo see y'all soon, peace out!!

Spring Series | (mini) Spring Drugstore Makeup Haul

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!  We did it!  We made it to another weekend!  If that doesn't merit a bowl of ice cream with your Netflix marathon tonight I don't know what does.  Is anyone else feeling under the weather right now?  Because honestly I hardly ever get sick but yesterday I felt so sick with a sore throat and a really bad fever, and I feel like it must be going around because my brother at college had the same thing going on!  Anyway, unfortunate illnesses aside, I feel kind of guilty about this because I have been trying not to spend a lot of money lately, and I've been doing well (!!), but today I broke down.  Ugh, you know when you just need one thing, and you go into CVS and in order to get your one thing you gotta walk by all these makeup counters?  I don't know about y'all but something always happens to me during this walk, as evidenced by this post!  Anyways I thought I'd show y'all the few things I got today!

As much as I love the Match Perfection Foundation, I thought I might as well give the concealer a go as well!  Also, lately for school I haven't been doing foundation, I've just been sticking to concealer so I wanted to start trying out a few new ones!

I picked this up because I've been looking for a nice pinky-nude shade, and this looked so amazing. Plus, the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks are honestly amazing, they're one of my favorite drugstore lipstick lines ever!

Ok, I got this for two reasons: 1) I've never ever tried a lip liner, which is so weird so I thought now was the time to commit a first and 2) I thought it would look really pretty with the above lipstick, right?  Also, just loving this pinky-nude trend I've got going on!

This is an old favorite of mine, and I featured it in my top 3 drugstore mascaras post, but I had run out of it so this is just a boring 'ol repurchase.  Actually, I've repurchased this about three or four times now, so trust me when I say, this stuff is amazing.

I just realized this whole haul is all Rimmel except for one thing... #fail.  I hope that's not too boring for y'all too read haha!  Anyways, I bought this because I always hear about people loving it, but I've never gotten it for one reason or another, but today I bit the bullet, so I'm excited to see if this lives up to the hype!

So the whole reason I actually went to the store was to repurchase this, as I'm nearly out of my old one, but when I got there I noticed they had two new shades of this, one was a neutralizer and one was a brightener.  The neutralizer was kind of yellowy and this one is kind of pinky, so I went for this one just because I wanted to see if it does a good job brightening.  I'm kinda thinking about going back and trying the neutralizing one too, just cuz I'm interested!!

And that's the haul!  Sorry it's basically a Rimmel only haul, I did not plan it like that at all and I hope it wasn't too boring!  But I'm quite excited to try these products out in some new springtime makeup looks, and I will keep y'all updated on what I think of all of the products!

Spring Series | Spring Cleaning // Get Organized in 5 Steps

So I decided today I'd start a little springtime series that covers beauty and lifestyle stuff for the spring, because, why not?  So to  start things off I thought I'd do a walk through on how to get organized for the spring, because it's just the time to get your life together, isn't it?  Not too sure why it is honestly, but it just always feels right to start a major overhaul of your life's possessions right around spring.  Honestly, I'm really good at organizing, like it's kind of weird honestly.  I think I just go into this phase and I lose all emotional attachment to objects, so I can just chuck a bunch of stuff in the trash and be fine with it, which may sound crazy to some of y'all, but believe me you'll feel SO much better when you get a load of junk out from under you!  So here are 5 steps I usually go through to get organized!

1 Have Trash Bags Handy
This may sound like a no-brainer, but it's really so important to go ahead and be ready to throw stuff away before you start looking at all of it.  I find it much easier to part with something when I can just throw it in a bag, rather than having it laid out in a pile where I can easily snatch it back and put it in my closet again!

2 Be Honest
It's so so easy for me to be cleaning out my closet or my books or something and know deep down that I haven't used something for so long, and probably never will again, but for some reason want to keep it anyway because I "just forgot I had it."  Honestly, if you haven't used something for over 6 months, there is probably no good reason to keep it around, and it probably will just sit around for 6 more months if you don't move it on out of your life.

3 Try Not to Take it in Chunks
I know this seems counterintuitive, because a lot of organization guide things tell you to break it up into easy chunks and spread the process over a few days, however I almost never do this (neither does the author of The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, so you know it's real!) because I find I lose inspiration if I let a day go by.  It's so much easier to finish organizing in one big go, even if it takes the majority of the day, than doing little bit by little bit and feeling like it's taking years to finish.

4 Don't Doubt Your Gut-Feeling
If you're first reaction when you pick up something is to get rid of it, do it.  Just put it in the garbage bag, and don't feel bad.  If you don't love something the minute you pick it up, there's no need for it in your life.  Also, if you find yourself trying to justify keeping something, it's probably ready for that something to find a new home, if you really need/like something you don't have to go through a million justifications for keeping it!

5 Stay Positive
This sounds so cheesy, but honestly whenever I've helped other people organize, I notice that the main obstacle to get over is not getting discouraged.  It's so easy to look at a pile of stuff (or multiple piles of stuff!) and feel like getting through all of it would be as hard as climbing Mt. Everest.  But honestly, the more time you spend looking at all your stuff, the less time you spend actually accomplishing your goal, so just take a deep breath and grab one item and decide if you want to keep it or move it on.  I find that when I get overwhelmed, I just have to grab any item and start there otherwise I can get sucked into the hole of just sitting in my room surrounded by mountains of stuff that I didn't even know existed!

So those are my tips to help!  I'm obviously not a professional organizer or anything like that, but I honestly do a big organizing spree of my room about once every three months, so after years of doing this, I've kind of developed my own methods!  Honestly, I find that the more stuff I get rid of/donate, the better I feel.  Like honestly, it feels like a weight gets lifted off my chest!  Also, if this helps motivate you to tackle the beast that is organizing, the more old and worn out stuff you get rid of, the less guilt you feel shopping for cute new things that actually make you happy!  Silver linings y'all!! Have a great Thursday y'all!

February Favorites | 2016

Hellooo everyone!! Happy Tuesday... is it just me or is Tuesday just always a grey, dreary day? Like it has all of the bad qualities of Monday, and its only real redeeming quality is that its closer to Friday but I mean really? Is it really that much closer because from here it feels like about a year til Friday rolls around.

But despite the fact that its Tuesday, its also the first of March which makes me SO happy y'all have no idea. And it was warm today and yesterday, and the birds are out, and I didn't need an eskimo jacket to make the trek from my car to the school building.  All good things all good things (wow I just quoted Olaf who am I right now). The first of March also means... February favorites *claps enthusiastically*!! So without further ado, here are the coolest things to happen in February!

So these two brushes came in the Sculpt and Blend 2 set from BH cosmetics, which I ordered about a month ago, and have been testing out ever since.  Honestly, for the price, I think that the whole set was really quality and I feel like they blend really well, and the don't shed which is SO good.  These two are the ones I really really like though, 124 is the bigger one and its for powdering, and then 125 is for contouring.  I mainly use 124 for bronzer because I feel like it is pretty dense for putting powder on, but it really works amazingly if you want a soft sort of diffused bronze to your face.  124 is just stellar for contouring and I find its just the perfect size for those ol cheekbones!

Soo I went to Mexico for about a week earlier this month, and as I'm quite pale, I wanted a bronzer for when I got there so I didn't look too much like a ghost, and this one is actually really good for the price.  I like that its not too dark and it blends really nicely on my skin.  It does have a tiny bit of shimmer, which I don't tend to be a fan of, but it honestly doesn't even show up on the skin, so high marks for this lil guy from me!

I usually hate painting my nails SO much, but I've been making myself do it lately because I've been trying to get better at it, and this nail polish is actually so easy to use and looks so so good on.  Like, I'm not even joking, this nail polish is a little bit life changing.  Just a little bit.  Also, it's like two dollars a bottle and it's such high quality, so how can you go wrong?

This was another product I brought to Mexico with a tan in mind (lol), and I was really happy with this product.  It really does last for a long time, honestly it's not like some sort of liquid lipstick that doesn't budge at all, but for what it is it really does last.  My only problem with this is that the color comes off kind of funny on my lips, not like it looks bad, but it just comes out a little more vibrant than it looks in the tube.  BUT I still love it and have been wearing this almost every day to school!

Not too sure why, but I've been loving a lot of brown-y shade lipsticks in February, and this one was my go to.  It's SO buttery and amazing, and the color is just so pretty.  It's brown, without being too severe, and it just is so so flattering and lovely!

This is another sort of brown toned lipstick, but I would say this one is just a smidgen darker than the Model Co one, but is just as moisturizing and buttery on the lips.  I feel like I alternate between this one and the Model Co one and the Wet n Wild balm almost every single day, so basically these lip products are nO joke y'all!!

For some reason I feel like this has been in every single one of my favorites... has it?  Who knows, all I know is I have loved this perfume and I still love it some I'm just gonna write about it yet again.  It has the most unusual scent, but honestly it's SO beautiful and fresh and it's so weird because literally everyday when I put it on, it's like I've forgotten how good it smells because it makes me so happy every single day!  So much love honestly, so much love.

And that's the stuff I've been lovin throughout the whole month of February.  Now, my friends, we go on to brighter and warmer months, thank goodness!  Although, a very sassy friend of mine told me yesterday that we live in Asheville and it most likely won't get really warm for like a good month, but honestly, can I just pretend?  Plus the robins are here sooo I'm not the only one thinking spring right? Anyways hope you all have a lovely first day of March!!
