Holiday Makeup Sets to Get Pumped For

Don't hate me that I'm already thinking about Christmas when Halloween isn't even behind us, I mean don't me wrong, autumn gets my heart racing fast, but when I peeked onto Sephora's website today (I check their website like 5x times a day, no shame) I couldn't help but get immersed in the new holiday makeup sets that have been released.  I love the holiday packaging, and these sets are a wonderful way to get cult favorite beauty products and a wonderful price!  So for the purpose of this post... let's just pretend that its ok to be thinking about Christmas since... Labor Day... ok just being honest with y'all!

1 // Tarte Light of The Party Collector's Makeup Case

Oooh my gosh, this set is amazing.  Tarte is such an amazing brand, and to get this much of their makeup for such a good price is AMAZING. Dream come true. I want it. Plus it comes in a sequin case - where can I sign up?

2 // Too Faced Le Grand Chateau

I love Too Faced stuff alot, and I couldn't resist this adorable packaging.  It reminds me of Madeline in Paris (is that what its called? y'all know what I'm talking about) which was one of my favorite books as a child.  This set is jam packed with a huge variety of really beautiful eyeshadows, blushes, and a bronzer.  Also the Better Than Sex mascara, which I have never tried, but am absolutely dying to!

3 // Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit

I have been dying to get my hands on some of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting products, because I have heard countless beauty bloggers rave about them.  This palette combines all of the Ambient Lighting products, which I think would make such a wonderful gift.  All of the shades look so glowy and gorgeous just from the picture, so I can only imagine the beauty they have in real life!  Plus, glowy skin is, like, my number one beauty goal in life so, win-win here (not sure if I used win-win correctly? eh, oh well).

4 // bareMinerals Storybook Romance All Over Face Collection

I was drawn to this set by the overall beauty of the packaging, I mean the dark red, the gold?  Take my money already!  Also this set includes a wide collection of face products, from eye primer to mascara and beyond! I want it... also bareMinerals seems to have that kind of chill, no-makeup makeup, effortless glam kinda feel, you know?  And like I really aim for that vibe a lot in my life.

5 // Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip

Nars, Clinique, Tarte, Laura Mercier, and more?  Dream come true.  I can't even describe to you the beauty of all of these lip products, and the fact that they are all combined into one set is just beyond perfection.  There's also a nice range of colors, from bright red, to orange red, to nice pinks.  Perfect gifts for a loved one... or for yourself, no one's judging!

Happy Holidays!  Oh sorry, too soon?  My bad... Happy Halloween, Trick or Treat yo'self.  That better?  Now promise me you'll all go out and stuff yourselves silly with candy tomorrow!

Another Face of the Day...

// Mascara Maybelline // Primer Maybelline // Concealer Neutrogena (mine is an older version of this!) // Eyebrow Kit e.l.f. // Eyebrow Gel e.l.f. // Powder Clinique // Blush Clinique (Plum Pop) // Bronzer e.l.f. (in St. Lucia) // Lip Balm Rosebud Perfume Co. // Foundation L'Oreal // Eyeshadow Palette Urban Decay // Perfume Brooks Brothers //

Hey hey hey! Another face of the day (I'm a poet and I didn't know it! Ok I'll stop now...)! These are the products I wore on my face today... I really loved the end result actually, I used the shade Mugshot to add drama to my eyes, and let me tell you, this shade is GORGEOUS. So amazing, and didn't crease on my eyes all day, which is a huge plus especially since I have oily skin!

Hope y'all had a great Thursday! Take heart, the weekend is on the horizon friends!

Fall Outfit Inspo - Gold + Oxblood

SHIRT J.Crew // SKIRT H&M // SHOES Topshop // RING Madewell // EARRINGS Nadri PavĂ© // WATCH Michael Kors // CLUTCH Similiar: Rebecca Minkoff // SUNGLASSES Ray-Ban // LIPGLOSS Nars (Rouge Tribal)

So I really really love oxblood, especially during this time of year. I love how flattering it is, and also I love how it makes such a statement.  Hey, who says leaves are the only ones who get to revel in all the pretty fall colors? Not this girl!

I love pairing oxblood with gold and black for an elegant look that is effortlessly glamorous.  The blue ring is sort of a wild card pairing, but I thought it gave a little pop of eye-catching brightness to the outfit. Let's not waste anymore time, lets put on some oxblood and gold, grab a friend, and have a good 'ol fall photoshoot!

Face of The Day - October 28th

G'Mornin! Happy Wednesday to all you lovelies! Its a rainy, dreary day again in my corner of the world. Whilst doing my makeup on this drizzly morn, I thought it might be fun to document the items I put on my face today, just for kicks! And so, here are the products I deemed worthy to adorn my face with this AM:

Lots of drugstore as you can see, I'm a drugstore fan through and through. These are products that I use almost every single day, they are all super consistent and I know I can always count on them to make my face extra pretty!

Have a great Wednesday!

Favorite Fall Nail Colors

Today is such a perfect cozy fall day, its rainy and grey, cold and gloomy, and the trees are the perfect red and yellow color. Inside the heat is on high and I'm wearing my favorite sweatshirt, and thinking about what color to paint my nails, which is obviously what prompted this post! So here are a few favorite Autumnal shades that I favor around this time of year:

Essie Grow Stronger Base Coat

Before I add the polish, I always use this base coat by Essie. I love how this keeps my nails strong and prevents them from flaking and tearing, which are the worst and tend to happen a lot to my nails the more I paint them, so this is a must!

Revlon 721 Raven Red

This is a really nice, classic red color. It's a little bit darker, and is not too orange-y, which makes it perfect for Fall. Also, Revlon is tied with Essie as my favorite nail polish brand, their polishes are always top quality, and they have a crazy range of colors.

Essie 288 Big Spender

This is a really pretty pink thats not too bright, while still having a really nice berry sort of color. I'm really obsessed with this color because I think it complements a lot of skin tones, and is a little bit different from other berry pink colors as its a little more pink-y if that makes sense!
Essie 710 Stylenomics

Oooh this color is so cool. It paints on quite dark, almost black, which at first made me so nervous, but I ended up quite warmed to the idea. I think going this dark on the nails looks really elegant this type of year, and I love how this isn't straight up black, but is a really pretty, dark hunter green.

Essie 360 Devil's Advocate

It's hard to tell from my picture, but this color is a really dark, eggplant-y purple. It looks really pretty on, and like the previous color is also quite dark, which as I said before was quite a risk for me. I say, if you're gonna take risks, the nails are a good place to start, eh?

Well I hope this little post will inspire some of you to get out there and put a little Autumn on your fingers and toes! Happy Fall!

A Very Tay Swift Halloween

I know I'm not alone in my love for Taylor Swift, I mean, how could you not love her? And so, in recent days much of my thoughts have been devoted to Halloween costume planning as I have made up my mind to not get caught in the age old fallback costume of the bedsheet ghost. In my exhaustive planning I was struck by sudden brilliance - Taylor Swift music video costume? Say no more, I'm on board. And so, here are a few ideas I thought up:

Look 1: Shake It Off Video

I love this look, its a little bit Audrey Hepburn, and you'll show up at your party looking darn cute with your red lip and classic cat eye. Also, I chose this lip color, which is Dragon Girl by Nars, because Tay said on Tumblr the other day that this is the shade she uses (heart eyes, sign me up, take my money, etc.).

Look 2: Blank Space Video

Ahhhh crazy Tay in the Blank Space video... classic, iconic, favorite forever. For added bonus points, smear your mascara and ruffle your hair to further finish that "they'll tell you I'm insane" look.

Look 3: Bad Blood Video

OMG this look... if you want an excuse to dress like a killer spy lady, this is your answer. Add some cool spy gear if you have any lying around the house (as one does) and call up your girl gang and start coordinating outfits already!

Look 4: Wildest Dreams Video

Ugh I loved this video so much... the glamour, Scott Eastwood, the outfits, Scott Eastwood, the amazing story, Scott Eastwood. You get the idea. If you really wanna bump this look up a few notches, bring along your dog dressed as a lion... or Scott Eastwood if he's free. He hasn't answered my calls yet but I'm sure he's just busy, right?

Happy Taylor Swift Halloween to you all, go get busy watching makeup tutorials for the perfect cat eye ok?

Autumn Wishlist

Ahhh when that first Autumn wind breezes across my face. These are the moments we live for, no? When the first leaf ditches its green summer wear for that foxy red dress of Fall, my mind goes into overdrive dreaming up new things that I want (I do this all year round, who am I kidding?). Below are a few things that I'm itching to take out of the dreamscape and into my Nordstrom shopping basket:

Steve Madden Suede Over the Knee Boot in Black

I WANT OVER THE KNEE BOOTS. Real bad. Just had to get that out there. I think they look so cool with a dress, or with jeans and ya fave cozy sweater. Really they're just versatile as anything, and look so amazing with basically no effort. Also I think they're flattering. I think these are a pretty reasonable price point too (most important, amiright?).

Topshop Moto 'Jamie' High Rise Ripped Jeans

I have heard rave reviews about Topshop jeans, and I actually don't own a pair of distressed jeans yet, crazy right? I like the amount of distressed these jeans are, its not too much, but you still get that cool devil-may-care look. Also $70 for jeans is totes amazin, and they're high waisted which is just my favorite ya know?

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution' Luminous Modern-Matte Lipstick in Glastonberry

I mentioned this lipstick in my Fall Essentials post, and I really really want to try this. As I said before, everyone and their mother seems to be in love with this lipstick, from Rihanna to Zoella. The packaging is to die for, and the shade itself. I mean. Just looking at it makes me swoon. Charlotte Tilbury, can we be friends?

Phase 3 Faux Fur Pompom Beanie in Ivory Pristine

I've been on the hunt for a cute beanie with a pom-pom for a while now, and I think this one is my favorite. I like that the knit is chunky but not too much so, and also its at the perfect price point, because really, there's only so much I can justify spending on a beanie, however much my heart may say yes. Anyway, I think this is the perfect think to keep your lil noggin warm on those cold Autumn adventures to Starbucks for a PSL (don't lie, don't deny that you love it. you know you do).

Stadium-Cloth Cocoon Coat in Heather Dusk

J. Crew coats always just get me. So classy, so simple yet elegant, yet undoubtedly cozy. How do they do it? I'm not sure, all I know is, sign me up please! I feel like this just goes with everything in any wardrobe, and makes any look instantly put together and classy in a snap. Always a Fall must have in my mind.

Madewell Flannel Sunday Shirt in Stripe in Pale Muslin

This appealed to me because it looks quite cozy, and one of those throw on and go pieces that I reach for without fail come Saturday (and Monday too if we're real here). I love this kind of shirt because it goes quite nicely with leggings and converse, which is a go-to uniform of mine in the Autumn. The flannel is an added bonus, because, uh, warmth!

Monday Inspiration

I had a sick weekend this past weekend (sick meaning that I spent Saturday watching Gilmore Girls with tissue in both hands, not sick as in I went crazy wild) and so Monday came 'round a little more harsh than usual. Is that even possible? I don't know but I think so. Anyways, as I was scrolling through Pinterest late last night, amid my weekly Sunday night denial sesh, I came across this photo of Kendall Jenner, queen that she is:

And so I thought I would share this inspiring photo of KJ braving rain, wind, and cold better with ease and not a hair out of place. I don't know about y'all, but where I am the rain is coming down hard and it was all I could do to get out of my car to race across the parking lot this morning. So as we all brave this rainy Monday, keep this image of KJ in mind, and remember that if she can do it, gosh darnit so can we!

(p.s. not my photo, probs to whoever it belongs to <3)

My Autumn Beauty Essentials

I'm just going to be honest with y'all - I'm one of those "basic" girls who is SO obsessed with Fall. Like SO SO obsessed. And I mean, I don't get all the "basic" hate, like yeah I like pumpkin spice lattes, they're flippin good. Anyways, Fall is a wonderful time of year that brings along my favorite type of beauty look, with lots of dark berry lips and gold eyeshadows. So without further ado, here are a few beauty essentials that I pull out at 12:00 AM September 1 (Ok, exaggeration but you get what I'm saying right?).

Benefit Cosmetics: World Famous Neutrals - Most Glamorous Nudes Ever

I'm not sure if this is a Sephora exclusive, however I purchased mine at Sephora about six months ago, and let me tell you - these eyeshadows are the for real.  They are so buttery and extremely pigmented, and on your eyes they look natural but also glamorous, does that make sense? If it doesn't, let me simplify - they look so naturally beautiful. The shade Gilt-y Pleasure is probably my favorite eyeshadow shade ever. Of all time. I love love love it around this time of year with a dark berry lip, a look that I have been turning to on the daily recently!

Maybelline: Color Sensational Lipcolor in Plum Perfect

Ultimate Autumn lip color for me. I think it may be a dupe for Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution' Luminous Modern-Matte Lipstick in Glastonberry, which I've heard tons of people rave about (mainly Zoella aka Zoe Sugg aka coolest person ever) but don't hold me to that as I haven't yet had the chance to try it! Anyways, this Maybelline color is the most gorgeous deep plum color, and doesn't look too vampy on my pale skin which is a plus for me. The formula is really nice as well, its quite creamy and I find it lasts me a fairly long time for a drugstore brand.

Clinique: Blushwear Cream Stick in Shy Blush

This blush gives a really nice natural flush that just makes it look as if I've been for a nice jog in the brisk Autumn air, which is obviously what we all want out of our blush right? Also, the tiniest bit of this blush goes a long way which is obviously quite nice. This is my go-to, everyday blush, it never fails me! Also, it doesn't have any glitter or shimmer, which don't get me wrong has its place, but a lot of the time I like just a nice matte, rosy finish, while still looking dewy, which this delivers in full!

Chapstick: Total Hydration 3 in 1 Coconut Hydration

I know... this is boring, not pigmented, and not glittery or rosy in any way. BUT, I couldn't survive these harsh cold winds without this baby. First of all its coconut, which I love (who doesn't like coconut these days? its so trendy honestly) and is also so super hydrating. It leaves my lips feeling so soft, and actually does keep them that way long term. You can't rock a good 'ol statement lip if your lips are all chapped my friends, and so, in my darkest, most chapped state, I turn to this hydrating coconut super 3 in 1 balm thing. Yeah.

So friends, above are the things that I turn to in order to transform my face into an Autumn masterpiece. I hope you have enjoyed reading, and hopefully enjoy/will enjoy some of these products in your own Autumn wonder world!

Welcome to My Blog!

Hi World!

I've created this blog as an outlet to talk about all things fashion and beauty, both of which have been passions of mine for quite some time now! I hope that this blog will bring happiness to a few people at some point!

A little bit about me - I'm love me some Jesus, Southern Summer Nights, and long walks through Sephora (also Target duh). I aspire to be as fabulous as Taylor Swift, Emma Watson, and all those cool tumblr girls that you always see (seriously, how do they afford to travel to Bora Bora every month?).

I'm hoping this blog will be as cool as I want it to be! Let the fun begin!
